Dr. Hector Rodriguez-Cortes is a board-certified pediatric hematologist-oncologist with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and also serves as program director of Hematology-Oncology, associate chief medical officer and chief medical informatics officer for Nicklaus Children’s Health System’s Broward Market. He is also the pediatrics associate program director at Broward Health. Dr. Rodriguez-Cortes earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the same institution, followed by a residency in pediatric hematology-oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Children’s Medical Center Dallas. His clinical interests include sickle cell disease and bleeding disorders.
Dr. Rodriguez-Cortes is board-certified in pediatric hematology-oncology and hospice and palliative medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the Children’s Oncology Group. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at various medical conferences.
Dr. Rodriguez-Cortes is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
